Surveillance and Access Control Installer

Qualifications

  • Computer networking: 1 year (Preferred)
  • 2-5 years experience with:
  • Access Control Systems; Avigilon ACM, Mercury Security hardware and Openpath a plus.
  • Familiar with door lock/exit hardware installation, programming and replacement
  • IP CCTV and analog video surveillance; Avigilon ACC, Hanwha Vision, AXIS, IndigoVision a plus
  • Familiar with NVRs, DVRs and encoders
  • Alarm/Intrustion Systems; Bosch, Honeywell, DMP a plus
  • Networking knowledge, switches, routers, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Servers, virtualization (VMWare), POE, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of DC and AC electrical circuits
  • Confident operation of power tools (drills, sawzall, chop saws, grinders,etc)

Full Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Install Video and Access Control
  • Perform camera placement for surveillance systems, including focusing and positioning
  • Run, and terminate various cabling (Coax, CAT5, etc.)
  • Set up, mounting, and installation of NVR and low voltage power supplies
  • Basic networking skills and knowledge
  • Submitting and maintaining timely and accurate installation, service, and inventory paperwork

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position operates in a variety of customer business settings including both interior and exterior installations. This position is very active and requires driving, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing up and down ladders throughout a typical workday. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will also regularly use hand tools, drills, and lifts as needed for the job. The employee must work well with limited supervision.

Outside Public Safety Account Manager | Sidney

We are looking for a full-time Account Manager for our Sidney location. This position includes creating long-term, trusting relationships with our customers, overseeing a portfolio of assigned customers and developing new business from existing clients while actively seek new sales opportunities. In this role, you will liaise with cross-functional internal teams (including Customer Service and Product Development departments) to improve the entire customer experience. This position may require occasional travel.

Responsibilities

· Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships

· Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits. Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed

· Develop trusted advisory relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors

· Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives

· Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders

Installer, Vehicle Upfitter | Dayton & Toledo

Job Description:

Service Technician | Toledo & Dayton

P&R is looking for service technicians for both our Toledo & Dayton offices! Service techs are responsible for running service calls in the field, as well as fixing equipment in the office. These technicians must be able to troubleshoot communications equipment, accurately diagnose problems and implement the fix. Experience in electronics is preferred.

General Labor / Project Work | Toledo & Dayton

P&R is looking for people who are comfortable with general labor and can therefore be trained for project installation work. We are looking for people for both our Toledo & Dayton offices! Our project installation team is responsible for transporting equipment to the customer’s site and installing it per safety, manufacturer, customer and P&R guidelines.

Required Hours and Internship Schedule:

Interns must complete a total of 120 hours of work experience over the time period of one academic quarter in accordance with the scheduled dates of course EE-40200 Wireless Communications Technologist Internship. Individual intern’s hourly schedule is to be negotiated, approved, and agreed upon by both the intern and P&R Communications Service, Inc.

To apply for an internship, interns must be enrolled in the Wireless Communications Technologist certificate program.

 

Internship Description

P&R Communications is looking for a highly motivated, self-starter to join our service team as an entry level technician. You will be responsible for performing test routines on two-way radios and responding to service calls to ensure our customers can communicate when it matters. Training will be provided. This is an entry level position that can lead to other technical positions on our team.

 

Internship Requirements from UCSD

It is the responsibility of the intern to arrive on time and work the hours that he/she has been scheduled for. In the case of sickness or an emergency, the intern must notify his/her supervisor as soon as possible, prior to the start of that workday. All missed time must be made up and rescheduled with the supervisor. Interns must meet with their supervisor on a weekly basis. In addition, at the end of the internship it is the intern’s responsibility to evaluate his/her experience at the company. Evaluations of the company & supervisor will be used to determine future placement of interns at that company. Prior to beginning the internship, interns are responsible to complete the following documents and submit for approval:

  • Student Waiver:Students will receive an email with the form to be signed electronically. Once completed and approved, their status on our portal will be updated and students will be instructed to enroll in the EE-40200 Wireless Communications Technologist Internship course.
  • The following two documents can be downloaded from our portal and uploaded once enrolled in the course.
    • I Have Read and Understood signed by both the intern and supervisor
    • The Objective Checklist that the intern creates with the supervisor

Job Description:

  • Travel to our customer’s locations for annual preventative maintenance and service calls.
  • Utilize test equipment to perform preventive maintenance checks on customer radios.
  • Document all equipment tested/serviced.
  • Complete job tickets and other required work documents.
  • Maintain positive customer relations.
  • Maintain consistent attendance.

Job Requirements:

This job requires someone with the following characteristics:

  • The ability to learn test procedures and use test equipment.
  • The desire for continued training and education.
  • Consistent performance and attendance.
  • Good customer relations skills.
  • The ability to work well with a team.
  • Prior experience using communications test equipment such as RF Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, and RF Watt meters is a plus but not required.
  • Basic computer skills. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A clean driving record.
  • The ability to pass a criminal background check, as required, for work at some of our customers’ facilities.
  • P&R is a drug-free workplace.
